The God fearing Maldivians are crying for the poor Palestinians

The following interesting comment is taken from Mohamed Nasheed's blog, comment # 26 by Ghazee;

"Dear Mr Nasheed,

It’s really surprising that some people dare to say that Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East even when they continue to evade UN Security Council resolutions 242 and 338 and inflict untold misery on the occupied people of Palestine. 242 is now as old as Anni, and 338 is almost 36 years old now. International law requires occupying powers to give full protection to the occupied, but Israel never complies. If what Israel practices against Palestine is democracy, better not talk about what an autocracy would be. Thousands of Palestinians continue to languish in Israeli military jails without charge, some for even tens of years. If elections are the only thing enlightened Maldivians look for in a democracy, well, even Hosni Mubarak of Egypt very much indulges in that exercise. So, if that is the singular yardstick, then Egypt is the largest democracy in the Middle East! The two resolutions referred to above call on Israel to unconditionally withdraw from West Bank, Gaza Strip, East Jerusalem and Golan Heights (belonging to Syria) which Israel occupied in the 6-day war of 1967. Even though Gaza Strip is now de-occupied, they still face continuous surveillance and bombardment from Israel.

You have said: “In most part, arguments put forward by the President and his top political advisors are pretty solid arguments which few could refute with an ethical yardstick.”

C’mon Mr. Nasheed, which ethical yardstick are you talking about, the yardstick of deprivation, imprisonment and/or expulsion of a whole people for 61 years? You really do not need to get this low. And, arguments, well, Dr. Shaheed’s arguments on the subject are real weak. Most of his statements on the subject are totally false! He said Saudi Arabia, UAE and Qatar have diplomatic relations with Israel, but they do not even recognize Israel as a state! This is the case with most Muslim and Arab countries. The only Muslim and Arab countries having full diplomatic relations with Israel are Turkey, Egypt and Jordan. They have their reasons for establishing relations with the Zionist state. Egypt could not have gotten the Sinai Peninsula (captured by Israel in the 1967 war) without peace with Israel. This is a huge chunk of land much larger than Israel itself. About half (or more perhaps) of Jordan’s 06 million population are Palestinians, now mostly naturalized citizens. Jordan gets lot of assistance from Western countries for this burden. Palestinian Authority maintains relations with Israel because they have no other choice. 36 countries, out of about 200 countries in the world (UN membership is 192 states as of date) do not recognize Israel. Most of these are Arab/Muslim countries. No true Muslim can willingly agree to Israel as long as they continue to kill Palestinians in cold blood, usurp their lands and make them refugees in their own land. Dr. Shaheed may be pushing for relations with Israel as they (Hssan Saeed & Co.) may have got some money from George Soros, the Jewish billionaire through The Open Society!

Without any relations with Israel, and remaining a 100% Muslim country in the turbulent Indian Ocean for the past 30 glorious years of Maldivian history under the able leadership of President Maumoon, we have now graduated to developing status. This is no mean feat given the small size (both in terms of land and people), lack of natural resources and the difficult geographical makeup of Maldives. Maldives in November 1978 was one of the five least developed countries in the whole world. But contrast this to the present-day situation. Maldives is ranked 99 in the latest HDI report (2008 statistical update) out of 179 countries.

In this report, countries ranked from 1-75 have high human development, countries ranked from 76-153 have medium human development, and countries ranked from 154-179 have low human development. You may be surprised to learn that both India (132) and Sri Lanka (104) lag behind Maldives. Much larger countries with much more natural resources like Turkey (76), Thailand (81), Iran (84), China (94), Indonesia (109) and Egypt (116) are in the same category as Maldives. But the latter two lag far behind the Maldives. Even the economic powerhouse of the African continent, South Africa (125) lag far behind Maldives! But still MDP demagogues and rabble-rousers have the gall to compare Maldives to Singapore! They also conveniently ignore the fact that the British bequeathed a fully developed legal system, an advanced education system, and paved roads to Singapore in addition to a huge sum of financial assistance given at the time of independence!

And that bit about getting financial aid from organizations backed by the Jewish Lobby is a bit naïve, and very cheap coming from a man of your caliber and reputation. If we, as a nation, are just after making a fast buck, may I, for your consideration, suggest a few activities that we can undertake: international money laundering, arms dealing, drug production and trafficking, organs trade etc! How can we be so mean to ask for filthy money coming from Israel tainted with the dear blood of our beloved brothers and sisters in Palestine? Shame on those Maldivians who are advocating for normal relations with Israel!

If mega projects like Gulhifalhu Industrial Park, Hulhumale 2nd Phase and the Ihavandhippolhu Transshipment Port announced by the previous government are properly executed, Maldives’ economy could triple within a matter of few years, as these investments will bring in hundreds of million, or even billions of dollars. We don’t need the dirty money coming from the Zionist entity to develop our country! But Anni government lacks the experience, expertise and knowledge to undertake such projects. So they simply keep on mourning that government income is only 07 billion, as if that amount is going to remain same for eternity! What a wretched group of people these are!

Israel has always refused to even discuss any final status issues: like withdrawing from occupied territories (esp. East Jeresalem), right of return for Palestinian refugees living in Jordan, Lebanon and so many other parts of the world. And think about the magnitude of compensation that Israel has to pay to Palestinians for all the suffering, expulsion and dispossession inflicted on them! This being the case, Israel will never agree to a two-state solution! And a one-state solution will be suicidal to them, as 10 million Palestinians (including the diaspora) will be no match to the 06 million Jews, in democratic terms. So, Israel is at a dead-end! Maldives should never ever establish diplomatic relations with Israel!"

World Agenda: Maldives can't be carbon neutral without killing tourism - TIMES ONLINE

In the 1960s a United Nations report warned the Maldives that, sadly, it was unlikely to attract tourists.

Not much grows on lumps of coral in the Indian Ocean apart from coconuts and fish, the report pointed out: the Maldives is largely dependent on imports and the nearest ports are hundreds of miles away. Few of its 1,000-odd scattered islands even had electricity. Yet within ten years, the Maldives had established the reputation it has now, as a holiday paradise for honeymooners, scuba divers and the super-rich.

On Tuesday, the tiny country of 350,000 people once again showed it can punch above its weight. The Maldivian President, Mohamed Nasheed, shared a billing with Barack Obama and Hu Jintao at the United Nations General Assembly, where he pleaded the cause of small island states at risk from climate change. In many news outlets, it was Nasheed who made the headlines.

In many respects the Maldives has always been the little nation that could. Despite its minuscule population and strategic location, it has never been colonised (it peacefully dismissed the British, who had made it a protectorate, in 1965). It has retained its unique language and script, and hung on to its cultural identity while incorporating Islam, elements from African religions, black magic, Indian cooking and the occasional British naval tradition. In 2008 it made a peaceful transition to democracy and was hailed as an example to other, more troubled Muslim nations.

Now, if Nasheed and many climate scientists are to be believed, it faces the greatest challenge of all. Its highest point is 2.4 metres above sea level and according to gloomier predictions this could be submerged within 100 years if man-made climate change continues.

Nasheed, a former journalist, has since his election made the Maldives a mouthpiece for the millions around the world who may be at risk (who listens to Kiribati or Tonga, or even Bangladesh?). At first, in the euphoria that followed democracy’s arrival, Nasheed suggested that he might set out to buy a new country on higher ground. Consternation followed from investors and locals, so he moved to more positive plans, promising that the country would lead the way by becoming carbon neutral in ten years. It has since signed an agreement to pioneer carbon capture technology by trapping carbon dioxide in burned coconuts.

Yet there is a contradiction at the heart of the Maldives campaign, which is powered as much by chutzpah and an eye for a good story as it is by any long-term plan (indeed, some scientists cast doubt on whether the country is at risk at all).

Tourism directly and indirectly generates 70 per cent of its GDP, and although renewable energy and carbon capture are wise areas in which to diversify, the Maldives will never ask the tourists to stop coming — which means it will never ask the planes to stop flying. With new technology it may be possible to power a resort on renewable energy, but green aircraft are many years away.

To stop the planes would be to shut off the engines of development that have made the Maldives South Asia’s richest country. So its rhetoric and new schemes must be tempered with a large dose of exhaust fume-scented realism. And in this respect, Mohamed Nasheed is little different from Barack Obama or Hu Jintao.

Truth about the Public Private Partnership, or rather President (Nasheed) Providing for Party (MDP Activists) - atollreview

Today, it is rather sad and pathetic to hear the dialogue of Mr Nasheed aka President and speaking to the public about the key policy changes in the country. Unfortunately, his thinking also changes like a 24 hour news bulletins.

First, it was punishing Mr. Gayyoom and his associates that became the number one priority for the Nasheed’s regime. Second it was all about the provincial system and then came the Public Private Partnership (PPPs) for the nations rescue and more recently, it’s all about the Civil Servants. Apparently, Mr. Nasheed cannot sleep these days because there are more civil servants than his own political appointees. The majority of the public chose Anni (Nasheed) over the former President for a change and people still stand for their ‘wise’ decision. However, it seems to people that Anni is either losing his mind or he is getting really bad advice.

Occasionally, people make statements that they think are just cool. For instance, we find President’s advisors like Foreign Minister Shaheed telling us that foreign investors are now looking at Maldives quite differently (positively) since the change in government. Is there a basis for this? Or else, is this just a theory based on lots of confusing messages President receives from his so called advisors? Ironically, every idea that comes to Anni’s table is new and exciting because he has heard about the idea for the first time. With such unrealistic emotions he goes on TV and National Radio promoting his ideas and enlightening to the public he has “the solution” to every individual problems in the Maldives, while majority of Maldivian thinking, ‘what is going on Mr. President?’ In fact, people have tried your ideas already with total failure or limited success. Mr Nasheed maybe a good journalist or an activist, but definitely, he is yet to show to the public that he can govern this small nation as he promised during his campaign.

To prove our point we will take one of the Nasheed’s core policies, his hymn to the virtues of Public Private Partnerships [PPPs], and their alleged superiority to government investment in key sectors such as health, education and transport. He has used every opportunity and resources to convince to the public his innovative philosophy. “We see models of successful PPPs all around the world. We are sure PPPs will bring much-needed self control to government expenditure…let’s open all the government run services to private parties…” Nasheed says.

When we heard about this first time, we thought, surely, this has to be a joke especially in the wake of the global failure of private sector capitalism. Mr.Nasheed often takes STO and STELCO as examples of failure in government investment, and the need for these sectors to be converted into private or PPPs. We would like to remind to the President that even though he is new to the PPPs, majority of the Maldivians are not, we do remember private sector’s so called ‘commercial discipline’ running Air Maldives into bankruptcy. Further, we can give failed examples from western countries - go check various OECD reports to find failed PPP transport projects in countries such as Britain and Australia, and disastrous consequences of PPPs in New Zealand.

We know many claim that private industry is intrinsically more efficient than government? Mr. President, this is not Thatcher’s era, what planet have you and your advisors been living on for the past decade? Mr. President this is also not the Reagan’s era where Big or small government was in question! Today, we need effective government, that’s all, ‘no bullshit’; just effectiveness is the key in providing public and semi-public goods. Private industry is not the savior.

Private sector is only efficient when they can make huge profits at the expense of the taxpayers and the citizens. For instance, take tourism industry in the Maldives. It is very efficient because all these years and even today they make huge profits and pay almost nothing in taxes to this country - Sonevafushi paying only $8 for $15000 bed, or Kurubaa Village paying annually $30 for the island rent till 2000, is simply business running at the expense of Maldivians blood. Now let’s look at what happens when resort owners were really asked to make a contribution to the society by forming so called PPPs via MTDC. Every body knows the situation MTDC is in, within the first year Auditor General has called for liquidation of the company.

Today we hear, PPPs in utility companies and transport system, and we do agree that this is a really good idea to get the job opportunities for activists of the Nasheed’s regime without any qualifications or guidelines. If people do not believe this reality they need to listen to the news carefully in each month - boards of directors in dozens with huge salaries are being selected for each of these PPPs.

We are worried about the regime’s continuous effort in outsourcing education, health and transport, because the effectiveness of PPPs depend on the contract on which it is based, as seen by the MTDC case. There are global cases such as the case in Victoria where the government outsourced services to the PPPs and failed to ensure the contractors were held to account for cost over runs and debt financing, eventually when they failed, Politian’s have an incentives to bail them out with taxpayers’ expense. Further, we have seen similar cases in US in the recent times.

Frankly, we are worried about the President’s idea of subsidizing business for their services. In other words, if government is going to subsidize private sector in the name of PPPs to build schools and hospitals it is time for us to stop all this rubbish about efficient and effective PPPs but label them what it stands for rather providing business avenues to his Party (MDP) members.

Now, we know what a hard core MDP supporter will say, let’s all blame Maumoon and believe in everything Anni says but we strongly disagree, we should all say no to the bogus policies Nasheed presents and represent.

President Nasheed says he will do anything he wants and will go against the Parliament and the people wishes - By Haulath

The hell-bent dictator of Maldives Kenereege Anni has said he will do whatever he like and run the country against the Parliament, against the people’s wishes, to maintain his stance about anything he want including the fully defect failure 7 province experiment. Speaking in a news conference given to explain how he will carry on his provincial experiment after the Parliament rejected the idea in favour of decentralisation plans equally impartial to 20 atolls; he vehemently claimed that his Presidential powers are more than enough for him to run the country and defend his actions. Be it making provinces or anything else he wants to do to benefit his cronies he demonstrated he will keep on doing it. Therefore rearding his 7 Province established using his Presidential powers by decree, he declared that he will continue with the employment of his MDP cronies, located in various province offices he formed, in his favourite islands from seven atolls of Maldives.

The sufferings of the beleaguered citizens of the 13 marginalised atolls do not matter to him. Since he formed his 7 province and put the 20 atolls under the command of seven atolls he choose, the 13 excluded atolls and the inhabited islands of those atolls has been starved at country level and community level. They are being deprived of basic resources, infra structure developments, employment and development projects. The Dictator Nasheed has always maintained that 200 inhabited islands are too much of a burden for him and in his Presidency he will not cater for 202 inhabited islands but will disband, destroy the atoll identity and patriotism which is in the blood of the Maldivian people and is part of their identity. In this regard he picked up seven islands, and has put 202 communities under the seven offices located in these 7 islands controlled by his cronies.

As Ali Shared a Facebook commentator has stated on Dictator Mohamed Nasheed’s Facebook page, this despot has no respect for the Maldives Constitution and sees separation of power as an obstacle for his government as many dictators do and need to be thrown out by the people immediately.

The ill informed Dictator Kenereege Nasheed does not realise that he has no quality and values of a real President and that it comes out every time he ended up near a podium talking like an uneducated thug, an MDP activist rather than a President. He was saying in the news conference that the Parliament will never form a law to barricade making of Sewerage systems in the islands, therefore they should not reject the province making bill, and the commentators of the article that appeared in Haveeru were baffled by the man’s talk of nonsense as examples. Furthermore after including the province making issue in the bill of decentralisation the man in the news conference claimed that his self formed 7 provinces on behalf of his activists has nothing to do with decentralisation.

The man does not realise that having included province drama in the decentralisation bill himself, how contradictory and what a fool he is coming across as while holding the presidential post of a respected country. An illiterate and half wit can be a better politician and display more integrity than this man. Let us see how long he can function as a dictator. Not long if he utters such rubbish out of his mouth and go against the Parliament, to run the country using his power of decree and sighting Presidential powers. Does he not realise that these kinds of tendencies and display of behaviours, comments are examples used by people and dictionaries to describe dictators.

The man should realise and respect that the 20 atolls of Maldives are formed along historical, cultural and traditional as well as geographical lines and has long established cultural and traditional values, and what he is doing is creating so much hatred among the atoll communities that has to suffer under his crony headed provinces. Power in the seven provinces, has become a beaurocracy and an obstacle for the marginalised atolls.
There is so much distrust and animosity between the atolls that he has bundled under his seven provinces; it is enough to oust him from his dictatorial infliction of unwanted pain and suffering on the people, an enough majority that can become a powerful force against his dictatorship. All Maldivian islanders and atolls strongly identify with the islands and atolls they belong to. But this man is going against the people’s wishes and without caring one bit is coming out and giving interviews claiming that he can run the country against the people’s wishes and against the Parliament.

Tension is high already among atolls put under the 7 province atolls. Atolls like Faafu, and Ghaviyani atoll has been dissenting against it and the President therefore visiting Addu, quickly went out of the atoll without going to Ghaviyani atoll fearing a demonstration against him. Similarly when he visited Faafu Nilandhoo, all the leaders, and elders came to implore to him about this cruel province decision of his, and the man we call President, after giving them an appointment, made them wait near the front door, then bolted out from the backdoor, leaving the island quickly and secretly. The politics of identity is too strong for his folly of 7 provinces to work. He is elected by the people, approved by the Parliament and can anytime be ousted if the people and the Parliament wants, the Parliament can do so by taking a No confidence vote and the people can do so by rising against him. Therefore he better shut his gob and respects the Constitution and also start doing things according to how the people want, rather than being a washout for his activist cronies.

NSW bid to ban caffeine energy drinks - 9News

It's unacceptable that energy drinks with dangerously high levels of caffeine are allowed to be sold to children, the NSW government says.

NSW Primary Industries Minister Ian Macdonald says he will lobby to have them banned, as some are being sold to minors due to a loophole in Australian law.

Should we ban caffeine energy drinks? Tell us what you think now.

Five Year 7 students from Quakers Hill, in Sydney's west, reportedly suffered side effects including dizziness and nausea after consuming energy drinks on their way to school on Wednesday.

Mr Macdonald says it's examples such as this that have prompted the state government to look at how it can get the drinks off the shelves.

"It's simply unacceptable that these products, clearly marketed at youths, have appeared in the market," he said in a statement on Thursday."So the government has taken immediate action to get these illegal products off the shelves."The Food Authority is working to get the so-called energy drinks 'Fuel Cell' and 'Cintron' off shop shelves as they both exceed the caffeine level legally permitted in the Food Standards Code."

However, Mr Macdonald said some drinks could not be banned in NSW because they were registered as dietary supplements with the federal Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).
"It appears that some drink manufacturers have exploited a regulatory loophole by being registered with the TGA as a therapeutic good, despite containing caffeine levels in excess of those permitted under the Food Standards Code."

Some other drinks were registered as dietary supplements in New Zealand, an issue he would take up at a trans-Tasman food standards meeting in October.
Do you think Maldives should ban caffeine energy drinks?

Ramalhan Mubarak

First we would like to wish you all a blessful month of Ramalhan. Also, let’s strive to not make this the month of food or month of socializations (cycling around Male') and to instead substitute that time with activities, which are more in line with the spirit of Ramalhan. Let’s make use of this month to achieve taqawa, the ultimate objective of Ramalhan.

Allah says in the Quran (interpretation of the meaning): “O you who believe! Observing As-Sawm (the fasting) is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqoon (the pious)” – Quran [al-Baqarah 2:183].

Everything else that we do in Ramalhan is just a means to that end. Let’s constantly gauge our hearts and if our actions, deeds, and heart and soul are not attuned to Allah (aw) and to the spirit of Ramalhan, we may have adopted a theme for this month not sanctioned by our prophet (saws).

May you have a happy Ramadan and that all our good deeds are accepted! We ask you for your dua’s and prayers!

Share with everyone any ideas that you have to make this Ramalhan better than before! Once again, Ramalhan Mubarak!

A Face to Face Meeting with Anni aka President

The following article is written with an account from a high profile public figure and his full account has been given without any distortion. Posted by atollcounselor with permision from Fanxi (nickname)

“By hook or by crook, I was called out for a meeting with the President with his cabinet members for issues concerning fiscal policies and current economic crisis. If truth be told, the meeting was not gone the way that I have been expected. Maybe perhaps, I have had immediate experience with the previous administration’s procedures and formalities exercised in their high profile meetings.

The meeting was held in the President’s Office with the cabinet members with some outsiders like me. We seated for a while waiting for the president to commence the scheduled meeting. After few minutes of loitering, the President came out and took his seat. He started his conversation with greetings by giving us a counterfeit smile.

We discussed the economic burdens and administrative issues that Maldives is being facing during this economic crisis. Further, if I go too deep by revealing what the President has been said in that particular meeting it will be disastrous for him. In fact, his incompetent tone was something that everyday beats in my mind forcing me to acquaint with the public as being a citizen of Maldives.

The point here is not only the things that we have been discussed in the meeting. This is also about the behaviour of a president, his high profile figures and junior team. The most unnerving and demoralizing figure was the secretary who supposed to be taking minutes of that particular meeting. Believe it or not, this secretary took part in the discussion by forgetting the responsibility as a clerical figure or else maybe I was wrong about the minute secretary’s chores.

More to the point, the President was too unceremonious with his embarrassing tone of voice. During this meeting my credence for the president has fallen short with his clumsy propositions as a leader of a country. As far as the nation concerns, the President should be someone who is cognizant of the principles of the state’s political targets in terms of its fiscal policies. However, with his bizarre comments on the discussions, I have lost all my confidence of his governance. With the credence of my own philosophy, I do not see any better future for this nation with his inept MDP activists. The fact of the matter is that the macro-economic forecast detailing economic activity; monetary policy, exchange rate policy, external debt in the country and domestic investment in terms of foreign trade policies are in the threat of collapse on the impact of global economic recession in parallel with his dire policies.

Therefore, I have been able to learn so much about this MDP governance during that meeting. Forgot to mention about the ‘coffee break’ I had with them which was also a learning curve with the new President.

By experiencing the two administrations, in terms of good fiscal policies with expertise of governance, I would say that the previous regime was much better than the current administration. This is due to lack of experience and amateurish members in the MDP core spectrum. My recommendation to the president is to change his attitude, behaviour and party politics to win the hearts of the public before things being deteriorated before his eyes.”

Google is taking YouTubIslam.com - By Yusuf Estes

Bismillah Rahman Raheem, Salam Alaykum.
We need your help, Inshallah. Please do something for me and for Islam right now, Inshallah.

First, read this and then join me and those who believe in Allah - to stop a very horrible crime about to be committed by some very powerful and forceful people. Help meput this information all over the Internet and around the world - we can do it, inshallah.

Let me start at the beginning. Can you imagine my shock when I opened up an email telling me our website domain name (YOUTUBE.COM) is being taken over by GOOGLE and their video site - YOUTUBE? Here is more or less what we were told:

NOTICE: Effective August 5th, 2009 Google (owner of YouTube.com) will take over your domain name: YOUTUBEISLAM.COM. Although we have purchased the name \"YOUTUBEISLAM.COM\" and have renewed for several years through GODADDY.COM it seems GOOGLE has enough influence to just simply take our domain name from us - and by the way, we have even paid for it all the way through to next year. First, their lawyers contacted us saying they were going to take our domain because we copied their logo. We didn't even come close to their logo.. (look for yourself www.YOUTUBEISLAM.com/images/logo.gif) They next came up with saying our name was too similar to their name. We changed the name and the layout to read: Yo Utu Beis Lam.com and we even registered that as a trade name. We changed the logo and the images to reflect the new name. They said they went into "arbitration" (of course we were not invited to that meeting) and then our registrar (GODADDY.COM) notified us they are "transferring" our domain name over to GOOGLE.

We have always maintained the highest of standards on our site - We never allowed any videos with inappropriate material. We did not allow videos that insulted or put down other religions. No dating or suggestive materials. No bad language. Only topics fit for all the family. We paid for the bandwidth from our own pockets to make sure everything was always as it should be without having people click and wind up on websites attacking beliefs or making fun of believers and certainly nothing to hurt people's feelings.

Above all, we did not put up any ads (especially not GOOGLE ADS) on our site. (Could this be why they want it so bad?) Or is it just so they can advertise their thousands of customers who would be happy to introduce thousands of paying advertisers to ways of entering into the homes of trusting Muslims who will think the website still belongs to Yusuf Estes and his dawah team? Maybe they just don't like Islam? Or possibily they don't like seeing so many new people entering Islam from our work? Why does GOOGLE - a company who bought YOUTUBE for billions of dollars - want to take away our little website? Good question. I think you know the answer. But do we have to let them do this without at least telling others about the unjust way of dealing of these people? Are we just going to sit there and do nothing, while they destroy our work, our efforts, our viewers trust and above all - destroy the chance for many people to know the truth about real Islam in simple English language. We don't have to. We can make a difference, maybe even stop these cowards. Let's join together, all around the world and make a difference. Let's tell everyone what is going on and what they can do to help...

1. Get a good copy of this page and make sure it is easy to read
2. Copy it.
3. Make sure to mail it out to everyone and ask them to do the same.
4. Send text messages - Like this: "Google trying to steal Yusuf Estes website - www.YoutubeIslam.com Help us stop them - www.GuideUS.TV for details"
5. Call people you know, or fax them, and tell them the same basic statement, asking them to share this message in every way possible.
Log on to the NEW website: www. tubeislam.com

The Majilis Cat Fights...meow!...meow!...meow!

Recently we have seen lot of cat fights in the Majilis. So what is really going on in the minds of the cat fighters? Meow! I think the cat spelled out some letters to begin with the story. ‘R’ starts with his nick name and first name starts with ‘M’ and ends with ‘A’. Who is this guy? Meow! Yeah...!

Once upon a time there was this seaman who travelled across the world as a merchant crew and witnessed the beauty of the Mother Nature. After a decade of seagoing services the man came to realize that there is an awkwardness in the sky when the sun sets and rises from the horizon. By analysing the Mother Nature from his cabinet porthole, he believed he has been witnessed something someone never ever have been witnessed before. With his absurd mind, this man thought he has been witnessed a miracle but that was quite contrary to the scientific law of the nature in which we live in.

After witnessing the miracle he kept himself until he arrives at the first port of call but when he reached the crowd with his miracle people thought he was mad and lost in the nature. Since then, he never gave it up and knew that there were people out there who might have pay some attention to his narrative experiences. He kept quiet until he gets home – The Sweet Home Maldives.

As his footsteps into the white sandy beach his first intention was to draw a crowd and tell this story. Fortunately, he got a chance to appear in a local TV show in the Maldives. He thought this was the best chance to reveal his long kept secret and appeared in the show with his certainty mind.

Believe it or not the pathetic story that he pronounced was quite extraordinary. He said that when he was a seaman while travelling across the world in the huge oceans he witnessed a phenomenon where none could have ever been imagined. In the eyes of this holly seaman the story goes like this. The sun sets in the horizon in the muddy water and rises in the eastern horizon with the same beginning.

Meow! What a miracle holly seaman and people believed in your stories at your electorate. Unfortunately, people like us rejected his miracle and believed that the earth is in a spherical form and would not have been occurred that scene against the law of the nature.

However, some people believed his miracle and this holly seaman became the icon of the entertainment industry in the Maldives. The very first appearance was in a song with a lady who is well-known to the industry. He appeared in the scenes by driving a dumper and sang the melodious song in the setting sun. The next few months this song was a hit in the mainstream media and he became the icon of the Mollywood as a delighting star!

Finally, one of the Atoll has been hypnotised and abducted with his ridiculed mind. This holly seaman is now in the parliament telling his bed time stories but the twenty first century minds confronted him and revealed his foolish miracle in the Majilis. Then, it became a fight and they wrestle against this holly seaman with every stand on his way.

So what is the outcome of this fairytale? What it tells us about this holly seaman and his ability to make laws and rules of a country where he believed sun goes down and sets into the muddy water and rises from the east with the same cause. This is the potential and competency of this man's brain and I leave the rest with you for your own judgments. MEOW! Do you guys know who this guy is? Leave a comment with your guess! Meow!

The Capacity of the President and Local Media of Maldives

At present, Mr Nasheed has been in the presidential chair for now nearly ten months. We have been following the local media and other means to comprehend his integrity of his term in the office. Unfortunately, there has not been a single constructive criticism made within the local media yet. The Television of Maldives (TVM) is seems to be like the same old institution where it hides the reality of everything and put out nothing apart from the regime propagandas. The local and the pro-government papers seem to be the finger-puppets of this regime. The means of the media convey the day-to-day governance of this administration without any qualitative analysis.

However, the real stories are out there but the media seems to be secluding every hidden agenda of this regime. The attitude of this regime is nowhere near or better off than the previous regime. People have been living with the same old politics for decades while some are getting weary of the change they brought in. For instance, you can recall Khaleelbe (Hoarafushee Khaleel) who is the mouthpiece of Mr Gayyoom and spread the prominence and concealed the flows of his regime. The public can recall interviews he had with Haveeru and TVM Heyanbo programmes. One of this interviews, he said Mr Gayyoom was his teacher and he was graduated from Mr Gayoom’s University which no one ever heard of. Of course, this was a customary and in their fantasy world to plead with the greatness of the leader. Indeed, we can see a complete different stance and his position towards these regimes now and then. This kind of corruptive transformations resulted to lose the credibility of the local media and its phony journalists.

The belligerent local media aids to promote regimes covert plans. The President Nasheed is taking this advantage and nowadays he is the champion for these media outlets. With our convert operations we came to know that this regime is threatening to the media whoever who’s not onboard with the regime. This is why this regime is so much in love with the media and spread their day-to-day propaganda without any threat of constructive criticisms. Also, the civil servants are facing the same dilemma from this regime. We have been told to be quite or onboard with the regime or else face forceful resignations.

The wise people think that this is not the change that they longed for at the first place. Some people think if they have a second chance to vote they wouldn’t mind to vote for Mr Gayyoom. It is quite obvious that there is many reasons people change their perceptions towards the current regime. The president’s cabinet, state ministers and other appointees are one paradigm people lose their faith on this regime. Indeed, the very fact is that the campaign promises MDP made during the presidential election. So far nothing has been done to fulfil these promises. This is where the media is lacking and it tries to ease the real stories with other redundant news bulletins.

The wise political analysts believe that the regime has no ground to fulfil their promises. The regime came to power without knowing anything about of good governance. These are the very people who have been labelled as activists without proper experience in managing a government and its financial capacity. The current regime laid out their manifesto without a proper financial plan and any strategic guidance from the experienced. The manifesto was laid out by filling a questionnaire from the fish market as if it was a graduate’s research methodological paper. Out of the blue they came into power but when they sat foot in the real chairs of the government, the activists came to realize that nothing comes that easy when it comes to administer and financial aptitude of a government.

They came to know that there is no easy way to find money to govern a nation. They came to know that the strategic importance of foreign aid is not to build nationwide transport network. They came to know that the tourism dollar is not enough to build flats and to invest in other socioeconomic activities in the country. They came to know that the global financial market fluctuations always discriminately brutal to its core fiscal policies. They came to realize that the foreign investors are not that interest into the other sectors of the market apart from tourism. The regime came to realize that money is hard to find whilst resort is just only the avenue that they can rely on to funds their unrealistic manifesto.

Since then, Mr Nasheed bargains with the media to divert the real stories and gave other needless excuses to convince his voters. Now he is using his last remedy to manipulate the public by focusing on Mr Gayyoom. Although, he has forgotten that there is a huge crowd (public) behind Mr Gayyoom for any of his offensive against him. The fact to the matter is that he has got fewer supporters than Mr Gayyoom and at the same time he forgets the coalition was the one bringing him into the presidential chair. Besides, he forgets there is no coalition behind him to back him up in the next election. His back up is Dr Waheed but the truth to the matter is he never had any public nor prominent party crowd to back him up for any public stance! Mr President wakes up before your term is over!
