A Face to Face Meeting with Anni aka President

The following article is written with an account from a high profile public figure and his full account has been given without any distortion. Posted by atollcounselor with permision from Fanxi (nickname)

“By hook or by crook, I was called out for a meeting with the President with his cabinet members for issues concerning fiscal policies and current economic crisis. If truth be told, the meeting was not gone the way that I have been expected. Maybe perhaps, I have had immediate experience with the previous administration’s procedures and formalities exercised in their high profile meetings.

The meeting was held in the President’s Office with the cabinet members with some outsiders like me. We seated for a while waiting for the president to commence the scheduled meeting. After few minutes of loitering, the President came out and took his seat. He started his conversation with greetings by giving us a counterfeit smile.

We discussed the economic burdens and administrative issues that Maldives is being facing during this economic crisis. Further, if I go too deep by revealing what the President has been said in that particular meeting it will be disastrous for him. In fact, his incompetent tone was something that everyday beats in my mind forcing me to acquaint with the public as being a citizen of Maldives.

The point here is not only the things that we have been discussed in the meeting. This is also about the behaviour of a president, his high profile figures and junior team. The most unnerving and demoralizing figure was the secretary who supposed to be taking minutes of that particular meeting. Believe it or not, this secretary took part in the discussion by forgetting the responsibility as a clerical figure or else maybe I was wrong about the minute secretary’s chores.

More to the point, the President was too unceremonious with his embarrassing tone of voice. During this meeting my credence for the president has fallen short with his clumsy propositions as a leader of a country. As far as the nation concerns, the President should be someone who is cognizant of the principles of the state’s political targets in terms of its fiscal policies. However, with his bizarre comments on the discussions, I have lost all my confidence of his governance. With the credence of my own philosophy, I do not see any better future for this nation with his inept MDP activists. The fact of the matter is that the macro-economic forecast detailing economic activity; monetary policy, exchange rate policy, external debt in the country and domestic investment in terms of foreign trade policies are in the threat of collapse on the impact of global economic recession in parallel with his dire policies.

Therefore, I have been able to learn so much about this MDP governance during that meeting. Forgot to mention about the ‘coffee break’ I had with them which was also a learning curve with the new President.

By experiencing the two administrations, in terms of good fiscal policies with expertise of governance, I would say that the previous regime was much better than the current administration. This is due to lack of experience and amateurish members in the MDP core spectrum. My recommendation to the president is to change his attitude, behaviour and party politics to win the hearts of the public before things being deteriorated before his eyes.”

  3. i think its time the "one sided" bloggers realise that its useless to see one side and write with a set-mind...people who dont see two sides of a coin is not to be given too much value...and i value you below zero whether i hate or love the president.

  4. What about the extreme media that brings you with one sided stories? didn't you see this? Before leaving comment on this page take a look at your own backyard!! we bring you stories whether you like it or not! If this is useless we wouldnt have wasted a minute on this.

  5. so whats your point here? The president dont have to be like an ordinary citizen or he cant be friendly to ordinary people? or to spread hatred by pointing out some baseless things which you find in his character?
I thought i will be getting some insight into the economic policy or something related to it which the person perticipated rather than this. Write somthing productive eventhough the writings are agaisnt government
