What will replace the Technology? by shadrrick

All economies have beginnings and ending because of the environmental challenges supersedes them. After 10,000 years of agrarian economies industrial economies came next and which began 1760s in Britain and followed by the information age economy ends in late 2020s. After centuries of different vibrant economies the global environment will experience the new economy called bioeconomy. Thus, life cycle of economy has four distinct quarters; gestation, growth, maturity and decline as like a normal life cycle of any occurrences. Hence, information economy will reach its maturity that takes off its growth quarter because of the cheap widespread wireless technology.

First the bioeconomy begins its very first business quarter in 1953 after identification of DNA structure and followed by the gestation period which ends after publication of the decoded human genome. Now we are heading into its growth quarter which overlaps with inorganic silicon infotech and inorganic composite materials and nanotechonolgy as like semiconductors and software did in the second quarter of the infoeconomy. During the overlap of infotech and biotech, we will be digitizing many biological processes. Four kinds of information dominate; numbers, words, sounds and images. However, information comes in many forms, such as smell, taste, touch, imagination and intuition but these new tools aren't yet developed enough to make them commercially viable. Instance, digital molecular technology has been enabled to sensor smell to identify diseases and plausible to use this technology in different business arenas before 2020s.

The first four industries to be infused by the bio era will be pharmaceutical, healthcare, agriculture and food. This bioengineered technology has taken its ground in drug market saving lives by treating existing problems. Still there are more to come in this area of biotech breakthrough and will transform the healthcare paradigm from treatment to prediction and prevention. In this era, people can predict and avoid foreseeable diseases before it welcomes them and avoiding to enter a hospital in the first place. Not only this, today in our supermarket shelves are filled with bioengineered food products such as corn, milk, meat products etc.

Beyond 2025, like information technology biotechnology will spread through every corner of the global market seemingly unrelated to biological arena. As a thumb of rule, problem will apparently be a setback as like privacy in information age which is an outspoken critic in the entire globe. With all this developments the baby boomers will be the first in history to span three distinct economies. The bioeconomy is next one to be born and will be exerting an impact on the present infoeconomy.

  1. its not replacing technology. it is technology at its best forms!

so 21st century topic though! i mean nanotechnology will change everything. all escape theories we have created about God's and all the rest of it could seem just plain silly when it comes to nanotech!
